Now…
What I'm up to, listening to, and tinkering with these days, on one short and perishable page.
Updated on
This page follows the /now tradition, the opposite of a biography, a snapshot of what's keeping me busy these days. It goes stale fast, that's the point, and the date above is the one that counts.
On the screen
I finished Dutton Ranch and From, I'm slowly catching up on the last episodes of Star City, the spinoff of For All Mankind I adore, and my next series will be House of the Dragon. Since my partner and I enjoyed Dutton Ranch, we're doubling back to Yellowstone in parallel, the earlier story we'd never seen. And tonight, off to the theater for Nolan's The Odyssey.
Controller in hand
Controller in hand, I'm finally getting to Cyberpunk 2077, which I'd skipped at launch over the reviews, and I just landed beta access to Soulframe, which I love so far. Star Wars Outlaws is sitting in my backlog, but between those two, it's going to be waiting a while.
In my ears
A lot of bluegrass jams lately; they're light and calm, which is everything the world currently isn't. And some lo-fi while I code, especially Claude FM.
On the plate
Much more varied lately. With my daughter at her grandparents' for a few days, my partner and I are making the most of it, treating ourselves to cuisines from all over. In short, yum.
On the desk
I caved in June, right as RAM prices explode and graphics cards cost a kidney. My faithful seven-year-old PC handed the desk over to an HP Omen Max 16 with a 175 W GeForce RTX 5090, a Core Ultra 9 275HX, 64 GB of RAM, and a 2 TB SSD. A handsome beast, a nice discount, and a serious budget all the same.
